👉 The birthday of the microphone is considered to be March 4, 1877, when the American inventor Emil Berliner, working together with Thomas Edison, received a patent for his invention - a means to amplify the sound of the voice.

Although, to be honest, the means that served to amplify the voice existed in antiquity, when special vessels were attached to the walls and the auditorium, which served as resonators, and the actors' masks had special mouthpieces. Yes, they weren't exactly microphones, but the goal was the same.
